Email that minds
its own business.
Postel is a native Gmail app for the Mac. Every account in one unified inbox, every conversation a keystroke away — and your mail stays between your Mac and Gmail. No one else.
Coming soon · macOS 14+
Built like a Mac app, because it is one.
No web view wearing a desktop costume. Postel is native — it works the way Gmail works and feels the way your Mac does. Nothing gets lost in translation.
One inbox
Every Gmail account you have — personal, work, school — gathered into one unified inbox. Colour-coded, never confused.
One search
Ask once, hear from every account. Your labels, your conversations, your history — all exactly where Gmail keeps them.
Fast, then faster
Archive lands instantly — with five seconds to change your mind. Reply, triage, and file from the keyboard, no spinner in sight.
Blocked by default
Tracking pixels are blocked before they can load. Senders never learn when, where, or whether you opened their message.
On your schedule
Snooze a conversation until you choose. Write now, send later. Keep the replies you type again and again as templates.
Ghost Mode
Hide the conversations you choose behind a lock — gone from the list until you unlock them. Honest about what it isn’t: not encryption.
Scheduling lives on your Mac, not on a server reading your mail to be helpful — snoozes return and scheduled mail goes out the next time Postel is running and online.
Some conversations are nobody else’s business.
Ghost a conversation — or a whole Gmail label — and it steps out of sight: gone from the inbox, from search, from the counts, from notifications. No badge, no gap, no trace on screen.
Unlock with Touch ID or your password when you want it back. Step away, and Postel locks again on its own — immediately, or on the timer you choose.
Honest about what it isn’t: Ghost Mode keeps mail off your screen, it doesn’t encrypt your disk. That job belongs to FileVault — which we recommend anyway.
Try the lock. The ghosted conversations leave the list — and the count — until you unlock.
Every account. One inbox.
Connect every Gmail account you have. Postel folds them into one inbox — Starred, Sent, and Drafts to match — and remembers which is which. Compose always knows the address you’re writing from, and a draft can change accounts without losing a word.
Named for a promise.
“Be conservative in what you do, be liberal in what you accept from others.”
Nothing of yours on our servers
Your mail travels directly between your Mac and Gmail. Nothing you read or write ever touches a server of ours.1
Nothing is read
No content scanning, no “smart” features trained on your correspondence. What arrives on your Mac stays on your Mac.
Nothing watches you
Tracking pixels are blocked before they load. Until you say so, an email can’t watch you back. The full policy: privacy.
Try the quiet inbox.
Postel is almost ready. One email when it ships — that’s all the list is for.
