Requirements

Postel Mail runs on macOS 14 or later, on Apple Silicon and Intel Macs. It supports one Gmail account, connected with Google Sign-In.

Sign out of your Google account

In Postel Mail, choose Mailbox → Sign Out. This signs the app out and clears its account-scoped mail cache after any pending draft recovery is resolved. You can also revoke Postel Mail’s access at any time from your Google Account permissions page — revoking there separately prevents any future API access.

Remove the app and its data

Sign out first, quit the app, then move Postel Mail to the Trash. Signing out clears the account-scoped mail cache; if you also want the app’s remaining local container gone (settings and any unresolved draft-recovery data), remove its folder from your Mac’s Application Support directory — reconcile or discard any draft you care about first. Your Gmail data itself is never on our servers; the only thing we hold is a newsletter address if you signed up on this site, and the privacy page covers how to delete that.
